1901년 미국 뉴올리언즈 빈민가에서 태어난 Louis Armstrong은 발군의 트럼펫 연주 뿐 만  아니라 굵직하고 거친 목소리로 

노래하며 수많은 대중의 사랑을 받은 세기의 뮤지션 이었다.

즉흥적인 솔로 연주를 강조하는 스타일, 부드러운 스윙(swing) 리듬, 완성도 있는 테크닉의 블루스 연주 등, Jazz 역사상

 가장 큰 영향을 끼치고 중요한 위치에 있었던 Louis Armstrong은  많은 대중들의 사랑을 받았던 뮤지션 이다.

재즈계에서 빼놓을 수 없는 가수이자 트럼펫 연주자인 루이 암스트롱은 재즈라는 어려운 장르의 음악을 대중적으로 

널리 알리는데 많은 공헌을 기울였다.

1900년 7월 4일 뉴올리안즈에서 태어난 루이 암스트롱은 본명이 다니엘 루이 암스트롱으로 풍채가 좋고 두꺼운 입술을 

지녔으며 흰 손수건으로 땀을 닦으면서 눈알을 빙글빙글 움직이며 노래하고 트럼펫을 연주하는 것이 장끼이다.
