Diana Ross - Touch Me In The Morning

검은 진주라는 별칭을 갖고 있는 Diana Ross는 1944년 디트로이트의 공업도시에서 가난한 집안의 장녀로 태어났다.
그녀는 어릴 때부터 음악적 재질이 풍부했는데, 고등학교 시절에는 친구와 더불어 보컬 그룹을 조직, 교내에서 인기있는 

보컬 그룹으로 활동을 하였다.

이들의 음악적 재질을 인정한 모타운 레코드에서는 그들을 픽업했는데 고등학생의 신분으로 트리오 Supreams란 그룹 

명칭을 받았다.다이아나 로스의 음악 활동은 그룹 슈프림스 시절과 솔로 시절로 구분할 수가 있다.

Supreams 시절은 흑인여성 그룹으로서뿐만이 아니라 대중음악계에서 여성그룹이 성공할 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었는데,

 1969년 다이아나 로스가 슈프림스를 탈퇴하기까지 챠트의 No.1은 무려 12곡이나 돼 여성그룹으로서는 가장 많은 기록과

 인기를 남겼다. 

다이아나 로스의 솔로 시절은 1970년 첫 앨범 「Diana Ross」를 발표하면서 시작되는데 싱글 'Reach Out And Touch'가

상당한 반응을 보였으며 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'는 솔로 활동의 첫 No.1 싱글로 그녀의 완숙한 테크닉과 역량

있는 음악성을 보여주었다.

1971년으로 들어서면서 로스는 좀더 다양한 활동을 보여주는데 TV Special과 영화에 출연하는 것이다.
특히 앨범은 「Everything Is Everything」 「Diana!」 「I'm Still Waiting」 등 3장을 발표했고 영화는 블루스 싱어 Billie

Holiday의 일생을 그린 『Lady Sings The Blues』의 주역을 맡아 1972년 아카데미 여우 주연 후보로 오르기까지 하였다.
1973년 6번째 앨범 「Touch Me In The Morning」이 발표되고 싱글 'Touch Me In The Morning'이 챠트의 No.1까지 올라
