Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star

 

버글스는 1979년 영국에서 결성되어 이듬해 해체되었다. 
처음에는 세션 뮤지션으로 활동하며 친분을 쌓아온 
키보디스트 제프리 다운스(Geoffrey Downes)와 보컬리스트이자 
베이시스트인 트레버 혼(Trevor Horn)이 만나 듀오의 형태로 
일렉트릭 팝 음악을 추구하기 시작했다.

"Video Killed the Radio Star" 는 그들의 첫 싱글로 '79년 말
에 발표되어 영국에서 차트 1위를 차지했다. 그 후에도 
"The Plastic Age" "Clean Clean" 그리고 "Elstree" 가 영국에 
서 인기를 얻었지만 두 멤버가 모두 직접 공연을 하는 것보다는 
음반 제작 쪽에 더 관심이 지대했던 관계로 밴드는 자연히 해산
