Ben E. King - Stand By Me

1938년 9월 23일 미국 North Carolina에서 태어났고 본명은

Benjamin Earl Nelson이다.
Ben.E.King은 여섯살 때부터 교회의 성가대에서 노래를 하였다

그리고 10대 때부터 그룹을 결성하여 "I'll Kiss and Make Up"을

시작으로"Save the Last Dance for Me", "I Count the Tears ", "Save

the Last Dance for Me"등 많은 곡들을 에 올려 놓았다.

이후 1960년 그룹에서 나와 독립을 한 Ben.E.King의 성공은 다음

해인 1961년에 발표한 그 유명한 Stand By Me"로 이루어졌다
이 곡은 그에게 솔로 아티스트로서의 견고한 명성을 얻도록 해 주었다.

그는 오래된 가스펠 송을 다시 고쳐 이 곡을 썼는데 그룹 The

Drifters에 속해 있을 당시 이 곡을 녹음하려 했으나 매니저가
거절하였다

The Drifters를 떠나 이 곡을 Leiber Stoller의 전설적인 작곡
팀에 가져갔고,그들은 이 곡을 히트하여 빛낼 수 있도록 만들었다.
