Arthur Garfunkel(기타 & 보컬)로 이루어진 미국출신의 Folk Duo

Musician이다.

1964년 1집 앨범 Wednesday Morning 3 AM으로 데뷔하고 1960년대와 1970년대 전 세계 Pop계를 풍미하였던 이들은 1972년 해체

선언을 할 때까지 Pop팬들의 뜨거운 사랑을 받았던 그룹이다

이들의 감성적이고 조화로운 하모니는 이미 세계뿐만 아니라 국내

Pop팬들에게도 잘 알려져 있는 사실로 그들의 대표적인 히트곡으로

여보게..어둠이여, 나의 옛 친구여
자네와 다시 얘기하러 왔다네
왜냐하면 어떤 환영이 살며시 다가와
내가 잠든 사이에 씨를 뿌리고 갔거든...
내 머리 속에 심어진 그 환영은
침묵의 소리 안에 아직도 남아있어

뒤척이며 꾼 꿈 속에서 난 홀로 걸었어
자갈이 깔린 좁은 길을 따라...
가로등 불빛의 후광 아래서
난 추위와 습기를 막으려 옷깃을 세웠지
네온 등의 불빛 때문에
찌르듯이 눈부셨어

적나라한 불빛 속에서 나는 만명...어쩌면
더 많은 사람들을 보았지
사람들은 무의미하게 그냥 떠들어 대고 있고,
사람들은 귀를 기울여 듣지 않고 그저 건성으로 듣고 있고,
인간의 노래 아닌 노래라고 만들고 있어.
그리고 아무도 감히
그 침묵의 소리를
깨뜨리지 못했어

내가 말했지. " 바보들...
당신들은 침묵이 마치
암처럼 퍼지는 것을 몰라...

사람들은 스스로 만든 네온 신에게
절하고 기도했어
그리고 그 네온이 만들어 내는 문구에
경고의 메시지가 빛났지
거기엔 이렇게 쓰여 있었지
